Did I just become your favorite podcaster?!
What happened to the humble baddie? OOOO! Don't know her...
I’m only kidding. But really though…
As a girl who has spent over a decade having weekly chats with the besties in my head—my favorite podcasts—I simply cannot overstate how giddy it makes me to know that Sarah and I may become that for so many of you as you kick it with us on Doing It All.
This past week, I called three different friends and interrupted them as they were listening to one of our episodes. The way that they trip out for a second and I help them make sense of hearing my real-time voice after they were just listening to my podcast voice? I might actually need botox after how hard and frequent I’ve been smiling. The excitement?! The love?! It honestly makes me a little jealous, not gonna lie. (Kid Fury, Crissle, Karen, Georgia…IYKYK… please call me!)
I just can’t say enough how surreal it is to be living out something I’ve always dreamed of doing—and have it be so well received by those closest to me. Even our guests are turning into listeners and friends at this point. The way I’ll casually like or comment on someone’s random IG post, and they turn around and tell me they’ve been listening to my show?! Or when an author whose work carried me through one of the hardest times of my life hits up my personal account, asking if they can come on MY show?! Somebody pinch me!
Podcast listeners are a very particular breed of human being. (I bolded listeners because I know some of ya’ll like to WATCH your podcasts, and I gotta say… You are likely not my target audience if you have the time for that lol.) Podcast listeners are very niche. You like what you like, and when you find a show that clicks, it’s more than just background noise—it’s part of your life.
What’s better than doing it all while listening to some cute and quirky girlies give you tools for how to make it slightly more manageable and fun? I really do feel like Doing It All can be for everybody, but even if it’s not? That’s cool too. The right people always find you, and the way people have found us so far? It’s beyond anything I could have imagined.
And the best part? I always knew we would be here.
In Sommer Hill’s episode, we talked about this exact feeling—the way we knew we had it in us, we just had to take the leap. And when you finally do? The respect is different. The way people see you shifts. The way they talk about you shifts. And maybe most importantly, the way you see yourself shifts. The respect I have for myself now, knowing I didn’t just dream about this but actually did it?
That feeling is everything.
I don’t want to rush a single moment of this experience. I know bigger things are coming. Some of my favorite podcasts took years to get to video recordings and YouTube. And right now, with Sarah and I truly in the midst of doing it all as toddler Mom’s, that seems impossible for us.
But fuck it, we BALL.
We will get there. Brick by brick. Day by day. Week by week.
So, shoutout to those of you who take the time to tell us you’re listening, that you care, that you’re proud of us. Shoutout to the MEN tuning in—whether you were introduced to the show by the lady in your life or found it on your own… sincerely thank you! Thank you letting us know what you’ve learned and how it’s been making you better. Shoutout to the real ones running it up with reviews, comments, and shares. It truly means the world.
And for those of you who haven’t listened yet… be so for real. What are you doing?! You could really just play it on mute to help us out if you claim to love us as people, but I digress… just listen! It’s easy, it’s fun, and I promise there’s something in every episode for every type of person. (If you’re a young single, go ahead and start with Sommer Hill’s episode—you’re welcome in advance.)
All my love to all of you. Keep listening, keep sharing, and as always… keep doing it all and doing it well!
You’ve always been my favorite podcaster 🥹❣️
